Europe will seek the secret of the universe

The European Space Agency (ESA) announced yesterday that it will launch spacecraft in 2020 to search for dark matter and dark energy, two mysterious entities that make up the universe.

The ESA Science Program Committee has just approved an Euclid launch project to search for dark matter and dark energy."We have just taken another step to discover more secrets of the universe," AFP quoted Rene Laureijs, a scientist in the Euclid project.

ESA spacecraft will use a 1.2m diameter telescope and a special camera to construct a three-dimensional 1/3 part of the universe known to man, including up to two billion galaxies and objects Dark matter relates to them.

"Euclid's goal is to answer the most important question in modern astronomy: Why is the universe expanding at an increasing rate, not slowly?" , ESA statement.

Dark matter and dark energy are hypothetical entities in the universe. They do not emit or reflect enough radiation so that telescopes or devices can be detected today. The scientific world recognizes dark matter through its influence on other entities. Based on current knowledge, scientists predict dark matter accounts for 70% of the matter in the universe.

It is argued that dark energy causes the universe to expand with increasing speed, while dark matter binds the entities in the universe together through gravity.
