After the time of monitoring, surveying and researching on products, Dien Bien provincial authorities have now confirmed that this is the Stork species, included in the Vietnam Red Book, whose scientific name is Anastomus oscitans, belongs to the Heron family (Ardeida), the Hacon (Coconiiformes) and is classified as the R group, extremely rare, highly endangered.

According to the Dien Bien Provincial Forest Protection Department, up to now, the number of individuals of this strange flock has increased, the bird's feeding area has also expanded. Many people in communes in the basin area of ​​Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province such as Thanh Yen, Thanh Hung, Sam Mun, Thanh An, Noong Het, Sam Mun . have also seen this bird appear on the field at times when the Stork is eating in large numbers.

According to people in the residential quarter 14, Tan Thanh ward, on pine trees with the age of nearly 30 years, in the afternoons this Co Nhuy herd has a population of about 500, they fly early in the morning, about Around 16pm, return to the shelter.

It is known that in order to strengthen this measure of protection of the Stork flock, Dien Bien provincial forest protection department has directed TP FPD to appoint staff to stick to the area, detecting acts of harm to the Co Nhan herd ; At the same time, promoting propaganda for people at the places where Nhan storks reside, eat consciously protect rare herds. Along with that, Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee also issued a directive to raise people's awareness, strengthen measures to protect safety for Stork species that live, reside and exist in the area.
