Facebook has just introduced the Facebook Lite version on Android for markets with flickering Internet connections.

This Lite Lite version is less than 1MB in size, works on any Android phone regardless of RAM, CPU or memory usage. Meanwhile, the regular Facebook version for iPhone has a capacity of nearly 95MB. The application is for markets such as Asia, South America, Africa, where people are strengthening their mobile Internet but ignoring expensive data packages. Therefore, even when using 2G, Facebook Lite still download quickly.

Facebook Lite shares many features with the full version Facebook application like News Feed , photos . However, it does not include videos, one of the fastest growing items on Facebook because it consumes data.

This is not Facebook's first attempt to bring products to these markets. Facebook also invests in Internet.org, a project that brings the Internet to people around the world.

The reason why Facebook doesn't ignore the growing market is because millions of people are not connected to the network.
