FCC licenses 1 meter wireless charging device, WattUp
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has just approved the production of the Wattup Midfield. This is an important step forward for a technology product, which will soon be commercialized.
Wattup Mid Field Test.
WattUp Mid Field is a device that can charge up to 1 meter (3 feet) at a time and charge multiple devices at the same time.
Energous, the developer of the WattUp Mid Field, said the device went to radio frequency, and then used this frequency to charge phones, tablets, and accessories (with compatible adapter receivers) within a radius of 1 meters.
This is clearly a big advantage for the current wireless charging dock, as it requires that the phone be placed on a stand and usually only charges one.
The company also said it will show off wireless charging technology at the CES 2018 show to be held in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12 next year.
