Filipino inventor tests flying hybrid drone
The new model can carry one passenger, can reach a height of more than 7 meters and fly for about 12-15 minutes.
Kyxz Mendoza, who lives in Quezon, Philippines, and the fabrication team successfully tested a single-seat model that looks like a large drone , Sun reported on September 3. He drove the car up about 7.6 meters high and landed safely.
Mendoza calls it "super light aircraft" and hopes to be mass-produced.
Mendoza began researching the car 6 years ago. The bad weather caused the test schedule to be backward compared to the original plan."I hope people will give positive responses to new media," he said.
Mendoza calls it "super light aircraft" and hopes to be mass-produced. He also plans to build a two-seat version. "It is a vehicle that uses the technology of a drone or propeller propeller to take off. It's like a hybrid drone," he explained.
The car has a metal frame, the case is made of ultra-light carbon material. The battery in the car is sufficient for 12-15 minutes flight and takes 2.5 hours to fully charge. The cost of making this type of vehicle is about 615 USD. Mendoza hopes to find investors and buyers soon.
