Forget to eat because

Just going to practice, Nguyen Thanh Phuong has researched to save electricity for street lights with sensors to receive sound and light signals .

Small, smart and intelligent face, Phuong said that she has cherished the idea of researching energy-saving devices since she was a first-year student. When he was out on the street, seeing the lights all night made him very sad because electricity was being wasted.

" But it was not until I read the information in the newspaper about the Green Idea Contest that I officially started writing the outline and developing the idea ," Phuong said.

Born and raised in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Phuong passed the exam and attended a talented Vietnamese - French engineer class, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The time of writing the project is also the busiest time when you have to go to graduate school. But the young man is still determined to do it.

Phuong (rightmost) gave a presentation on the project before the judges.

Diving to buy old electronic devices, accessories as a backdrop, when you have free time, Phuong has to assemble, create models, sometimes forget to forget to sleep. At the beginning of the fumbling period, not yet experienced, Phuong tried every way the model still could not work.

Not discouraged by failure, Phuong continued to tinkle and ask more friends and teachers. Nearly three months of implementation, Phuong's model worked well. The total cost is just over one million dong.

Taking the name " Smart savings management system" , Phuong said the model works according to the mechanism: Time of 18h-22h, the lighting system will automatically turn on for people to walk back and forth. 22h-23h30, the system switches to mode 2 (one light shadow and one alternating light). 23h30 to 1am, the system switches to mode 3 (2 off shadows and an alternating light). And from 1am onwards, the system will switch to mode 4, the lamp will turn off all and only the sound sensor mode will be turned on (if someone passes by, the light will automatically turn on).

The model is outstanding at using sensors including light, sound, temperature. This device automatically manages outdoor lighting devices such as turning off lights when it is bright and turning on the light when it is dark (main function) and checking indoor temperature to adjust accordingly when using air conditioner (Functional Accessory).

In the festival of green ideas, when other friends have relatives and friends go to cheer, Phuong only asks one more friend to bring the model and decorate the booth. Presenting his project before the jury, Phuong proved quite calm and mature. The questions of the judges on the sustainability of the project, the benefits to the community as well as the practical implementation capacity were very well answered by Phuong.

" Receiving the second prize and having the bonus, supported by Toyota, I will upgrade the model to put it into practice. I trust this smart savings system, the amount of electricity used will be maximized. " Phuong said.
