New lizards have been discovered
The French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) on January 15 said that the "Sirenoscincus mobydick" lizard has its special anatomical characteristics, a combination of two unique features that can be found. found in amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds of all kinds.
The discovery made by French, Malagasy, American and German researchers was published on the weekly newspaper Zoosystema in late December.
The center said that "Moby Dick" lizards were discovered in forests in northwest Madagascar.
Because this animal lives on the ground, its skin loses its pigmentation and its eyes are almost gone. And although this lizard still has its forelegs, the foot part has completely disappeared.
The center calls this creature a "morphological organization" of mammal marine animals - carnivorous mammals that live in oceanic environments like whales and dolphins.
