Found the birthplace of the Roman emperor Augustus
A group of archaeologists yesterday claimed to have discovered part of the building that they believed was the birthplace of the first emperor of Rome - Augustus.
Archaeologist headed by Clementina Panella said the team had dug a part of the corridor and debris at the building on Palatine Hill, Rome, which was described as a very ancient noble house.
Panella said she was not sure if the house was the place Augustus was born in 63 BC, but based on historical documents and what was found nearby, the emperor was particularly fond of this place.
Excavations at Palatine in recent decades have revealed monumental buildings, such as another Augustus house, including two rooms with magnificent murals of many masked characters. and pine branches.
Panella said there are at least two houses in Palatine that the emperor once lived. Most are still hidden in underground tunnels.
