The stories of ghost ships still linger in the dreams of sailors.

The story unfolds with the Octavius ship anchoring at the Port of London in 1761, loading up new shipments with the destination of China. The large boat left the port with full personnel, including the captain and his wife and children. They came to China safely, unloading passengers and loading up new shipments to return to England.

The weather of the trip was unusually warm, so the captain decided to take the boat to the Northwest, a maritime route that no one had conquered at that time. It was also the last time people heard the news from the Octavius boat. It was claimed to be missing at sea.

On October 11, 1775, the whale hunter Herald was strolling through the cold waters of Greenland when she saw a ship bobbing on the sea. When they got close, they saw a scene like any other abandoned boat in the sea: tattered sail, waving in the wind like a ragged shirt that took the body away from the sea salt. The boat emitted a cold breath of death.

The captain of the Herald ship ordered the crew to board the abandoned ship, after giving the initial judgment that it was Octavius. The deck was empty, they opened the way down to see if anything was opened before their eyes was a horrifying sight: the 28-man crew was frozen. In the captain's compartment, they found the ship's captain frozen in a state still sitting in his seat, his hand still holding the pen, so the lines of log shipping. In the dark corner, a woman wrapped in a blanket hugged her small son who had frozen.

The group of strange ship explorers were terrified, and they quickly grabbed the shipping book and ran a circuit to the Herald boat. In a hurry, they had lost many of the frozen ship's pages, only keeping the first and last pages. Fortunately, that was enough to read about the ill-fated voyage of the Octavius.

Heard crew members discovered the body of the captain of the Octavius ship frozen on the seat.

The last recorded event in the freeze happened on November 11, 1761. Octavius was stuck in the Arctic for nearly 14 years. The captain of Octavius tried to cross the Northwest, but was trapped in the ice in northern Alaska and killed the crew, including his family, in a deadly cold.

The Herald boat recorded the last position of Octavius at 75 degrees North - 160 degrees West, about 400 km from Alaska. It floats in this position, meaning that it has completed its journey through the Northwest, but the crew completed the journey when no one survived.

And the Herald boat, too frightened of the towing of a ghost ship that had been lost to the port for a long time, left Octavius floating offshore. So far, it has not reappeared.

It is unclear whether the ship has sunk to the bottom of the ocean after decades of waves on the water, or is there still somewhere a ship without survivors is fluttering along the movement of the sea? No one knows for sure.
