With the Kepler space telescope, American astrophysicists have discovered two giant planets, each roughly the size of Saturn and a third of the Earth's size, orbiting the a star far away.

In a study published in the journal Journal Science on Aug. 26, the researchers said the two giant planets have moved around the star at speeds of 19.2 and 38.9 days, respectively. But their movement speed increased or decreased by 4 and 39 minutes respectively due to the interaction of gravitational force between them.

According to Matthew Holman, Harvard University astrophysicist, head of the study, based on gravitational analysis, the researchers conclude that these are the two largest entities that orbit the star.

This finding has important implications, helping astronomers to study in depth the physical state of these planets.

Scientists also hypothesize that the existence of a third planet about the size of Earth, but three times the weight, revolves around the star in a near orbit.
