Grapefruit planting techniques

Prepare the soil

High ground dug holes across the ground and covered with rain for easy irrigation in the dry season, rain-breaking season so that the trees would not be waterlogged and flow when flooding. The size of the log is 5-8m wide, depending on the size of the garden, but should not be longer than 30m. Around the garden, ditches should be excavated from 1.5 - 2m wide, 1 to 1.2m deep and covered with high banks; Inland ditches are 0.5-1m wide, 0.8-1m deep. When digging ditches, you should pay attention not to bring acid sulfate soil (if any) to the surface, if acidic soil needs lime to raise pH = 5.5 - 6.

Should pay attention to set sewers to regulate water, every year need to repair lugs by depositing a thin layer of mud and widening the edge when possible.

Planting hole size

The pomelo planting hole is peach in square shape, with the size of 0.6 x 0.6 m. Planting distance is 5x5m. In the first 3 to 4 years, short-term crops can be intercropped.

Plant tree

Should be planted at the beginning of the rainy season, when seeding down, trim the leaves. Seedlings when planted should be placed directly on the tower plants or the extracted plants with uniform distribution. Place the incline on the plant with few branches, helping the sprout to grow.

Fertilizing

Picture 1 of Grapefruit planting techniques Newly planted trees, fertilizing 10kg of manure, 0.5kg of phosphate, 0.2kg of lime. The amount of fertilizer depends on the growth status of the plant:

- Plant 1 - 3 years old, apply 1 - 3kg NPK (16-16-8), 0.5 - 1kg super phosphate.
- Plant 4 - 6 years old, apply 4 -7kg NPK (16 - 16 -8), 0.5 - 1kg super phosphate.
- 7 -9 year old tree, apply 8 -15kg NPK (16 -16 -8), 0.5 - 1kg super phosphate.

How to apply fertilizer is as follows:

- Plants aged 1-3 years should be mixed into water, watering periodically 1-2 times / month.

- Plants from the 3rd year onwards, apply 4 times / year, apply according to the canopy with the amount of fertilizer for each root: the first time, after harvesting, apply 10kg of manure with 1/3 of NPK fertilizer. Second time, 1 month before flowering, apply 1/3 of NPK fertilizer. The 3rd time, after 1 month of fruit set, apply 1/3 of NPK fertilizer. Fourth time, before harvest 1-2 months, apply 1 -2kg of potassium.

Take care of

Clean grass, visit gardens regularly, remove overtaking branches and branches. Watering miles if the sun is intense, draining when flooded. Pruning fruits in the year is too much, making grapefruit exhausted. Harvest concentrated and enhance fertilizer in the seasons.

Pest and disease prevention

- Root rot, purulent discharge: Causing pus on the stem, stem, and branches largely due to Phythopthora spp. Do not leave water, spray Aliette 2.5%, Ridomil 2%.

- Ulcer disease: Harmful symptom is a deep, fast spreading indentation due to the charm of the amulet. Prevention by cleaning the garden, except for the amulet, when the pea flower sprayed 1% lime component, 3 times, 10 - 15 days apart.

- Amaranth pest (Phylloenis citrella): Young larvae burrow into leaves causing zigzag lines, often accompanied by ulcers. Control by spraying early from the young leaf stage.

- Green fruit stink bug (phynchocoris humeralis): Stink bugs suck on fruit juice, causing the bottle to become loose and fall off. Should prevent, transplant weaver ants into the trunk, use Trebon and Applau - Mip.

- Stem borer: Hollow borer of branch branches causes pus, dead branches. Deep extruded sawdust out of the cave mouth. Control by cutting off the severely damaged branches before the molting into adults, injecting insecticides into the perforated hole (can be sprayed with little basudin), using iron hooks to catch the worm.
