Great battle between frogs

On November 7, 1970, a horrible case in Malaysia's Senfisip: Tens of thousands of frogs plunged into a war of armor, biting each other very fiercely, amid the deafening cries. This frog fight took place for a week. When the zoologists came to the scene, only eggs, tadpoles and dead mummies remained.

War between frogs is not uncommon. Perhaps this is a normal phenomenon in the breeding season of frogs. The war usually happens when the new drought lasts for the morning. Heavy rain creates conditions for eggs and tadpoles to develop. Because of the long-term drought, the eggs that have matured in the frog's abdomen did not give birth, had to wait. So when the rain comes down, frogs rush to each other to give birth. Males compete to choose a place, roar to call their mates, and as a result they pull each other to the convenient waters to mate. During mating, males chase after their children, two males compete for a female, thus fighting the war.

Even though there is no frog war, there are still dead children, why? Amphibians without weapons do not have the ability to damage the enemy. The cause of death may be due to the following points :

  1. Females carry heavy eggs, if they are hugged by the male, they can obstruct breathing.
  2. Frogs mimic through hibernation time, their bodies are weak, they have to go through hardships, when they are finished, they become exhausted and die.
  3. Strongly stimulated frogs can secrete a toxic factor that causes the same type of poison to die.

These explanations are only speculations, what is the real reason, biologists still need to study more.
