Greenhouse effects - Preventive measures

One thing is certain that we all feel, it is recently that the weather is often hot, the temperature is high and natural disasters occur more with increasing levels. Of course, no one can be comfortable in such a climate. And have you ever wondered why the weather is getting more erratic, more frequent and more severe storms and floods? It is due to the greenhouse effect.

So what is the greenhouse effect? Why is there a global warming phenomenon?

The Earth absorbs energy from the Sun to maintain a relatively stable temperature, facilitating the development of rich flora and fauna. However, when the atmosphere has too much CO 2 , CFCs, CH 4 and water vapor . then the Earth becomes a sphere that holds heat, absorbs much but has less heat emission. This phenomenon is similar to that in greenhouses, so it is called the Greenhouse effect.

With the rapid increase of greenhouse gases, generated from human activities, the Earth's temperature is constantly increasing, causing global warming (Global warming ). Scientists claim that climate change is the biggest natural disaster that people face, its consequences are greater than all combined wars.

Picture 1 of Greenhouse effects - Preventive measures So what harm can global warming phenomenon cause?

• Elevated temperatures make the polar ice sheets melt, sea level rise, so lowland areas such as the Netherlands and the island nations in the Pacific region will disappear.

• Rising temperatures also increase humidity, enabling infectious diseases to spread faster and affect the lives of plants and animals. Many plants and animals used to live in cold climates are at risk of extinction . Rising temperatures in the dry season also increase the risk of forest fires.

• El Nino and La Nina phenomena are more and more frequent, causing increased rainfall, causing floods, while others are droughts!

What can we do to prevent the Greenhouse effect?

Recognizing the importance of the problem, countries around the world have discussed and signed the Kyoto Protocol (1997) to reduce the creation of greenhouse gases. But you can also contribute to protecting the Earth with your practical actions!

• Save electricity: Part of the electricity is produced by burning fossil fuels, generating a large amount of CO2. Use natural light, use energy-saving light bulbs, turn off all electrical appliances when you leave the room, you have contributed to humanity to protect the Earth.

• When you need to move close distances, walk instead of using a motorbike. Use public transport, study by bicycle, and protect money while protecting the environment!

• Let coal stoves or ' ancient ' oilfields go into the past, using gas cookers is both fast and good for the environment.

• Use high quality Vietnamese goods. Why do we eat American grapes, New Zealand apples while our four seasons have fresh fruits, no preservatives? Transporting goods between countries creates a huge amount of CO2 and it is obviously a huge resource waste.

• Save paper (print paper on both sides, use old files to make rough paper .), recycle plastic bags, plastic bottles will help protect the environment and reduce CO2 in the production process.

• And do not forget to plant lots of trees around the house, it not only helps the fresh air but also creates a special landscape for your home.

Remember: Whether or not the Earth is protected by your own consciousness and actions!
