The entomologist, Zhao Li, caught a giant mosquito on Qingcheng Mountain (Sichuan Province, China).
Zhao Li discovered the creature while he was on fieldwork in the upper mountain area.
The mosquito he caught was 5cm long from head to tail. The length of the wings is 11cm - 10 times the average size of normal mosquitoes.
When Mr. Li placed this mosquito on the palm of his hand, his wings and legs were precipitated larger than the length and width of his hand.
This is the biggest mosquito this insect expert ever saw. When he first discovered it, Mr. Li was surprised. It was as if a mutated mosquito creature should be unusually large.
This entomologist claimed that the creature he caught was a mosquito. This biting insect also has many classifications and it may be the largest mosquito in the world.
This mosquito was turned into a museum exhibit in Chengdu by Zhao Li.
In May, Mr. Li will display it in a strange insect exhibition to visit the public.
