Headphones regulate blood pressure

The device, called Resperate, looks like a pocket-sized music player, which regulates breathing by producing a relaxing sound through the accompanying earbuds.

Researchers say the device could help tens of thousands of patients control hypertension without using any drugs.

This device works by checking the patient's breathing through a cord wrapped around the chest. Next, it emits a tone that allows the patient to inhale and exhale properly. These tunes gradually slow down as the patient sighs. A normal person breathes 18 times per minute but to lower blood pressure, we have to breathe less than 10 times per minute and Resperate can do the same. In addition, patients with hypertension are advised to use this device at least four times a week, every 10 minutes.

However, scientists have also noted that there is no evidence that the device can replace the drug. Resperate has been used in the UK's public hospital for a fee of £ 7 per visit.
