The origin of the Vietnamese teacher's charter day

In January 1946, an international organization of progressive teachers was established in Paris (the capital of France) named FISE (Féderation International Syndicale des Enseignants - International Union of Education Unions).

In 1949, at the Warsaw International Conference (Varsovie - the Capital of Poland), the FISE organization developed a "Charter of Teachers" of 15 chapters.

For the first time the "International Charter of Teachers" was held throughout the North of our country on November 20, 1958.

The main content is to fight against the bourgeois and feudal education; build a progressive education; protect the material interests and righteous spirit of teaching and teachers.

In the years of resistance war against the French colonialists, Vietnam Education Union contacted FISE with the aim of taking advantage of international forums, denouncing the crimes committed by imperialists against the people. I also like teachers and students.

At the same time, introduce the achievements of revolutionary education, enlist the support of all teachers in the world for the righteous resistance of our people.

In the spring of 1953, the Vietnamese delegation was led by Deputy Minister of National Education Nguyen Khanh Toan to attend the important meeting to enroll the Education Union of some countries to organize FISE in Vienna (Austrian Capital), including Vietnam Education Union.

Only shortly after its founding (July 22, 1951), the Vietnam Education Union was admitted as a member of FISE.

From 26 to 30 August 1957, in Warsaw, the FISE Conference had 57 participating countries, including Vietnam Education Union, decided to take November 20 as International Day of Teachers' Charter. .

For the first time the "International Charter of Teachers" was held throughout the North of our country on November 20, 1958.

In the following years, November 20 holidays were also held in the liberated areas in the South.

Every year, celebrating the history of November 20, the education subcommittee often publishes and publishes a number of special journals to encourage the fighting spirit of teachers in the temporary occupied area in particular, motivate the planet. God endured the sacrifice of the brothers and sisters of the resistance warriors in general.

At the request of the Education sector, on September 28, 1982 the Council of Ministers (now the Government) issued Decision No. 167 - HDBT on Vietnamese Teachers' Day. In which there are provisions, taking November 20 is Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
