History and meaning of war invalids and martyrs July 27

The day of war invalids and martyrs (July 27) is a celebration celebrated annually to commemorate the wounded soldiers and martyrs who died in the war of independence and national defense.

This holiday is recognized as an expression of the tradition of drinking water to remember the source, gratitude and fruit, remembering those who plant trees in Vietnam. Thereby propagating and educating the young generation about gratitude towards People who have been successful with the Revolution ever.

After the August 1945 Revolution, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born. However, because the revolutionary government was still young, the French colonialists plotted to return to invade our country.

The French colonialists had succeeded in replacing Chiang Kai-shek in Northern and attempted to invade our country again. Resolutely defending the revolutionary achievements, preserving the country's independence, the entire army and our people fought valiantly in places where the French colonialists occupied. Many soldiers, our compatriots were wounded and permanently resided in the battlefield.

The pain that covered the whole nation, many families lost both husband and children. Many young wives only enjoy happiness for one day. In order to help ease the pain of loss of the soldiers' families and people, the Vietnamese government has moved to establish an organization, called the Association to help soldiers die.

In early 1946, the Association helped the dead soldiers (later renamed the Association to help injured soldiers) was established in Thuan Hoa, Binh Tri Thien, in Hanoi and many other places. President Ho Chi Minh was invited to be the honorary president of the Association to help soldiers die.

On the afternoon of May 28, 1946, the 'Helping Victims' Association ' held an important talk at Hanoi Opera House and Ho President attended.

On the afternoon of July 11, 1946, at this Theater, there was a fundraiser for donating clothes and shoes for soldiers on the front, opening the campaign of 'winter soldiers'. Here, Uncle Ho took off his worn coat to give to soldiers.

When the national resistance broke out on December 19, 1946, the number of people injured and sacrificed increased. The life of our soldiers and compatriots met many difficulties.

Our Party and State have decided many important policies related to the work of war invalids and martyrs to ensure the material and spiritual life of policy families in the early period of the resistance war.

In June 1947, representatives of the Viet Minh General Department, the National Women's Union, the Vietnam National Army Political Bureau, Nha propaganda information and a number of localities met in Dai Tu - Thai Nguyen.

The content of the meeting is to implement the direction of President Ho Chi Minh to select the anniversary of War invalids and martyrs and protect the war invalids and martyrs.

After reviewing, the Conference agreed to take on July 27, 1947 as the National War Day. This is considered an important rally with 2000 participants in Thai Nguyen. Here, BTC solemnly read the letter of President Ho Chi Minh.

He sent a silk shirt, a month's salary and a meal to the staff of the Presidential Palace.

Every year on this occasion, he also has letters and gifts to send to war invalids and martyrs' families.

After the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu on 7/2/1954, our Party and State became more and more interested in and solved issues of soldiers and families of martyrs as well as wounded soldiers. From 1955, 27/7 days War invalids are exchanged for war invalids - martyrs.
