How did water appear on earth?
Water exists everywhere and every day we need a huge amount of water. However, where does this "foundation of life" come from, has yet to be clearly understood.
There are two possibilities mentioned. First hypothesis: Earth "oozes" water through gas clouds. Second hypothesis: meteorites brought water to Earth during their impact on the earth. Until now, scientists have yet to agree on which assumptions are correct.
Hypothesis 1: During the formation of stellar generations, gas clouds are continuously enriched by heavy components such as dust and water. In some dust clouds that constantly form new stars and surround these stars, our "gas disks" were formed about 5 billion years ago. The gas and dust rings of the solar system were just 10 times larger than our solar system today.
Along with the time in the gas rings, the "stones" are gradually formed through the gradual attachment of small pieces and debris to create a premise for a star. Through impact and friction, these asteroids continue to bind together into larger planets. Eventually they form large planets like Saturn, Venus, Earth and Mars.
These original planets not only contained dust, but also ice. The first water particles that exist in planets are gas clouds. But most of them were lost when the asteroids were red hot. They evaporate back into space. However, the earth continuously cools down and volcanoes erupt with gas clouds combined with other gases such as CO2, methane and ammonia. Finally, the earth is cold enough for the steam in the air to condense into clouds, rain and water gradually sink into the ground and create the sea, rivers, lakes .
Hypothesis 2: Most scientists think that cold earth alone will not have enough water to form the sea today. The country must come from another source. One theory is given: Water comes from meteorites with a radius of kilometers around the Earth at the beginning of its formation. When they fall to the earth, the water contained in it is stored as ice. There are also proofs for this theory: Huge "bomb craters" on the moon and there are still cold winds carrying steam. Astronomers studying the formation of the moon show that water is still there in the form of ice.
Water - one of the most important components of life that is extremely familiar to us every day. But to find the correct and scientific explanation for the existence of water on earth and for life is still a big question that our humanity still has to continue to find answers.
