Hundreds of remains reveal tragedy

The remains revealed the horrifying truth about Vesuvius's volcanic tragedy that killed up to 16,000 people. Before being buried, they died of blood evaporating, the brain exploded.

The team from Federico II University Hospital (Italy) studied a series of ash and volcanic rock remains buried in 2,000 years in the 12 ancient rooms of Herculaneum City.

Herculaneum and the neighboring town of Pompeii famous for its cruel volcanic Vesuvius disaster in 79 AD, killing 16,000 people, have been recreated in the famous "Pompeii" movie.

The old hypothesis suggests that lava, ash, dust, and rock from volcanoes have been released too much, leaving thousands of people buried alive without escaping. But Italian scientists found that they died in a more horrifying way, before being buried.

Many skulls on the remains of the remains have cracks, fissures and scary "dark traces" .

The research steps showed that the black mark on the human bone was the trace of blood that had been boiled to the point of evaporation , due to the sudden heat from the eruption. In many remains, the remnants of the boiled human brain, releasing a multitude of steam, caused the skull to explode , causing them to die before the ash and rock were buried.

Initially when black spots were discovered and it was iron, archaeologists thought of some kind of metal jewelry. But they finally determined that it was blood, when heated to too high temperatures, separated the physical components, deposited iron into the bone.

12 rooms built on Herculaneum beach are a temporary shelter when volcanic disasters begin to occur. It is estimated that 300 people enter there to take refuge and the volcano quickly turns the building into a mass grave.

Measurements show that before being buried, the air in the rooms skyrocketed to 200-500 degrees C. 300 refugees died at that moment.
