IDEERS - the earthquake design competition in Taiwan

The 'Earthquake-resistant Design - IDEERS 2006' competition ( Introducing and Demonstrating Research in Schools ) will take place from September 22-24, 2006 in Taipei, Taiwan.

This is an international competition for all high school students, technical university students and graduate students from the UK, APEC member countries and countries in Asia - Pacific.

Since 2001, IDEERS has been held annually by the British Council of Taiwan, Bristol University (United Kingdom) and the National Earthquake Research Center of Taiwan.

To participate in the contest, students and students will have to form a group of 4 members and can invite a teacher to accompany them. Candidates will have to design and build an earthquake-proof home model using materials supplied by the organizer.

IDEERS aims to help young people interested and interested in scientific research, help students learn how to work in groups, have the opportunity to exchange, exchange experiences, meet and make friends with students from many different countries around the world.

The prize of the contest includes the first prize of 30,000 Taiwan dollars, the second prize of 20,000 Taiwan dollars, the third prize of 10,000 Taiwan dollars and many encouragement prizes.

For foreign candidates, the British Council of Taiwan will cover the entire cost of accommodation and travel of the team in Taiwan, including five days of accommodation at the hotel, the transportation and transportation costs of the team at Taiwan, shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. Participating teams will have to pay for the return and return airfare.
