6.1 Richter earthquake rocked Taiwan
A 6.1-magnitude earthquake shook many parts of Taiwan, making people in Taipei feel vibrations.
According to Reuters, the US Geological Survey (USGS) initially recorded an earthquake with an epicenter about 110km northeast of Taipei with a magnitude of 6.4. Meanwhile, the Central Taiwan Weather Bureau said that the earthquake was 7.2 Richter.

Witnesses said vibrations could be felt in buildings in Taipei, like the legislature, as well as the airport in Taoyuan, south of Taipei.
Nghi Lan district and some parts of Hoa Lien district felt the strongest earthquake.
Semiconductor Manufacturing Inc, the world's most contract-based chip maker, said its operations were unaffected. There are no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage.
An earthquake of 6.4 magnitude in February killed 117 people and injured more than 500, of which most were in a collapsed high-rise apartment in Tainan City, southwestern Taiwan.
