In vitro fertilization causes complications of pregnancy
Research shows that pregnant women by in vitro fertilization (IVF) have a 40% increased risk of pre-eclampsia.
Analysis of studies shows that in vitro fertilization makes pregnant women at higher risk of pre-eclampsia leading to hypertension, which can cause seizures and even death.
Scientists believe that embryo culture in the laboratory can lead to poor development of the placenta later. Other experts believe that women who perform IVF are at a higher risk of pre-eclampsia because these women are usually older and have other health problems.
Charles Kingsland, a physician at the Liverpool Women's Hospital and head of the British Breeding Association, said: 'We know that women who perform IVF may face risks and many of them. that's due to age. '
The problem of placenta leads to hypertension and affects fetal development. If left untreated, it can lead to pre-eclampsia.
To find out whether pregnant women by in-vitro fertilization are at higher risk than natural pregnant women or artificial insemination, American authors have looked at studies around from 1995 to 2011.
From analyzing six eligible studies, they found that compared to other groups, the rate of pre-eclampsia or pregnancy-induced hypertension was 41% higher in women after IVF.
The study was presented at the annual meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
