Install radioactive control gate in Noi Bai
The Nuclear Radiation Safety Department will install a radioactive control gate at the arrival terminal of Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi, in February.
This is one of the activities to deal with a possible nuclear incident, especially the lesson from the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan.

Dr. Dang Thanh Luong, Deputy Director of Department of Nuclear Radiation Safety said, the Department is cooperating with the General Department of Customs to prepare conditions for installing radioactive control gate at Noi Bai airport.
In the last year, the Department has completed security installation at 22 facilities with high radioactive sources within the framework of US DOE BOA project on reducing the risk of insecurity of radioactive sources.
Mr. Luong said that the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety is also preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Department and the Vietnam Association of Standards and Consumer Protection to ensure safety and security. for radioactive sources used in consumers.
