Invented from shrimp ponds of 3 students

3 students of class 11A1 of Ngo Gia Tu and Cam Ranh high schools, together invent automatic lime beating system in aquaculture, which is highly appreciated by shrimp farmers.

This invention of 3 students Nguyen Thanh Thuong, Pham Ngoc Binh and Thai Nhat Minh, received special awards from Can Tho University and the consolation prize of the 2014 National Science and Technology Contest. has just been rewarded by Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuyen, 52 years old, in Cam Phuc Bac Ward, Cam Ranh City, is applying the automatic lime invention above. In the past, when there was no automatic system, the lime beating for his shrimp pond was very extreme.

"Regardless of the night or day, if the shrimp floating on the head is known to know that pH in the water is low, the lime must be removed to neutralize the water, the dissolved oxygen is easier. If lime clings to the person causing itching it is very uncomfortable , "he said.

Now Mr. Tuyen and many shrimp farmers can just beat lime and drink tea, because 'just pouring lime into the tank, plugging in electricity sometimes only 5 minutes to finish a whole lime' , Mr. Tuyen said.

The idea of this invention started with Nguyen Thanh Thuong. The student said that every time she saw her father and the people in the area beating lime, shrimp farming had to directly wade down to affect health, so I thought I had to find a way to beat lime automatically to reduce the energy. human labor. Thuong brought her idea to discuss with two classmates, Pham Ngoc Binh, good at Ly and Thai Nhat Minh, specializing in Informatics, to implement.

The group you discussed with each other is done with the model. Minh is in charge of making the reel system, Binh prepares everything for pH meter, Thuong studies plumbing. For the first time when installing the system the whole group had difficulty because the amount of water absorbed was faster than the amount of water flowing out, resulting in the water overflowing through the container. Thinking, finding ways and asking the teachers in the school, his father found out the disadvantage was due to the cross section of the inlet and outlet tubes being equal. After replacing the inlet pipe with only one-half the size of the water pipe, the water pumped into the bottle creates a vortex that dissolves the lime in the bottle and flows without being overflowing like the first.

In order to have the rotation system of the model like that of the actual dam system outside, the group lost many researches and found suitable materials and improvements. Thuong said: 'The motorbikes you buy are for aquariums to be directly underwater to absorb water. And the motor of this model has to be put on high, so it has to be reduced . " more curvature and curvature than small motor propellers, bending small rotors to curl and adding a ball to the motor's suction tube so that water can get inside without coming back out. "So the pump placed high on the water still absorbs water ," the young inventor concluded.

The patent model system is fully installed, just use a pump to pump water from the bottom of the tank, into a tank and have a water pipe from the reservoir. There are many small holes in the body of the water pipe and there are many holes and holes are placed along the axis of the reel to create oxygen in the shrimp pond. When pumping out, water with lime and dissolved solution will spread out through the holes in the body. Then, thanks to the push of the oxygen wheel, the lime solution is mixed, dissolved in water and spread throughout the shrimp pond.

Nhat Minh shared: 'From this model, it is applied to the fact that aquaculturists can take advantage of existing equipment at places such as water pumps, oxygen generators, motors, barrels. Plastic drums . then just need to buy two more plastic pipes that are twice the size that will install the automatic lime system for your shrimp farming. Minh said, so there will not be much cost and that is the first benefit of the lime system that they invented '.

The group of Thuong - Binh - Minh put their patent model into practice three times at the family farm. Thuong said, the work of dissolving 60kg of lime by hand and wading into the pond hit the whole lake for 30 minutes each time. If you beat lime with your automated system, it only takes 18-25 minutes to complete. Meanwhile, lime people do not have to soak in water and work around the pond to dissolve the lime. The method of automatic lime grinding also overcomes the risk of infection of pathogens for aquaculture farms when farmers have to soak from one place to another to dissolve lime.

The whole group also studied and designed an automatic pH measurement system so that when the pH reaches the desired value, there will be an alarm ring to help the workers know to adjust the amount of lime properly.

According to Minh, the group calculated the cost of installing the automatic lime system when designing their model, costing just over 4.2 million VND. That is to include the value of water and motor pumps that are available at aquaculture farms, so everyone can apply them.
