Specifically, this tofu named 'c-fu' (short for curd tofu) is made up of protein of the pest (Tenebrio molitor). It is estimated that in order to get 1kg of tofu in this form, the inventors must synthesize nutrition from 22,000 deep-powdered individuals.

The process of making tofu starts with isolating the protein in the deep body. After that, the team studied the structure and rearranged them into the structural blocks of common tofu. However, the new tofu is completely superior because the flavor is still ensured and also contains two healthy omega-3 and omega-6 acids.

This new invention is greatly appreciated by its applicability and bright future. According to many experts, in the next few decades, insects will become the future of the food industry. They are high in protein but do not have much impact on climate and environment such as poultry and ordinary cattle. Particularly pests can be used to feed 2 billion people in the near future.
