The site chosen for this giant accelerator is Mount Sefuri on the southern island of Kyushu, or the vicinity of Kitakami city in the north of the main island of Honshu.

According to the preliminary design, the new accelerator will have a linear structure. Unlike the large European Hadron Collider (LHC) in a closed loopback loop tunnel.

However, the length of the future accelerator in Japan will be 30km, which is 3.5km longer than the LHC.

The new accelerator will become the world's most powerful scientific experiment, enabling scientists to conduct experiments to look for previously unknown elementary particles.
