China will have the world's largest particle accelerator

Chinese scientists are rushing to complete the plan to build giant particle accelerators, larger in size than any other accelerator in the world.

China's CEPC particle accelerator is built underground, more than twice the size of a Large Hadron Collider, built by the European nuclear research organization ( CERN). The LHC is the largest modern particle accelerator and offers the most powerful acceleration in the world today.

With an 80km circumference, China's CEPC can surround the entire Manhattan island of America. The accelerator research facility is located in Beijing. The preliminary design of CEPC is expected to be completed in December, with the study of leading Chinese physicists and Western partners.

The giant Chinese accelerator has an original design that breaks down electrons and antimatter, then protons, at a speed close to the speed of light. This process will reproduce the conditions of super energy, supporting the study of the origin of matter, energy and space-time. Larger accelerators can achieve greater energy levels than CERN, helping physicists discover new types of particles, far beyond the particles that have followed the standard model of particle physics.

According to Aljazeera, the accelerator is expected to become a symbol of China, to assert the world's superpower position for pure scientific research.

Particle accelerators (nuclear accelerators, particle accelerators) are devices that use external energies to transfer particles to increase velocity, thereby the energy of particles moving.
