This Hoshide astronaut's trip lasted 6 hours 38 minutes, the last step in the mission.
The previous two outgoing flights were made in August and September.
The total time of all three trips is 21 hours 23 minutes. With this achievement, Mr. Hoshide, who became a Japanese astronaut, had time to step out of the longest space.
The former holder of this title was astronaut Soichi Noguchi, whose achievement was 20 hours 5 minutes.
Mr. Hoshide, along with American astronaut Sunita Williams, was tasked with fixing leaks of ammonia gas, which was used to cool the power supply device. Failure to seal leaks will cause a reduction in electricity supply to ISS by about 13% by the end of the year.
Hoshide astronaut is expected to return to Earth on November 19, after four months staying on ISS.
