Jewelry discovered from the Stone Age in Türkiye
Stone jewelry beads unearthed in a tomb in Boncuklu Tarla, southern Turkey, have revealed the skills and needs of ancient people in jewelry making, a team of archaeologists said.

The personal jewelry - including earrings and bracelets - has been dated to the middle or late Paleolithic period in Asia, at around 12,000 years ago. .
Researchers said this is the first time ancient jewelry pieces of Stone Age humans have been found in Southwest Asia with evidence directly related to human jewelry items.
Other artifacts even from the early Stone Age have been found, but their function is only conjectured . 'So the custom of burial with objects has been going on since the Neolithic period' , commented Dusan Boric, Associate Professor at Sapienza University, Rome, Italy.
Boncuklu Tarla is a famous Turkish landmark, with countless artifacts found dating back to around 10,300 to 7,100 BC. Currently, all residents in the area have been evacuated to facilitate excavation work.
