Johnny Depp is named for the extinct creature

Scientists have enrolled "Caribean Pirates" Johnny Depp by naming him to give an extinct creature whose claws "look like scissors" , reminiscent of one of the famous roles most of this star.

The Kooteninchela Deppi species existed from 505 million years ago and is the ancestor of today's scorpions and lobsters according to the results of the Biology Daily.

During his career, Johnny Depp portrayed a monster with a hand made of scissors in "Edward Scissorhands" (1990) and resembles Kooteninchela.

"When I first saw nails from this creature's fossil record, I immediately thought of Edward Scissorhands," said researcher David Legg of the University of London. .

"And in fact, I'm a Depp fan, so there is a better way to honor this man than to immortalize him as an ancient creature that has traveled the sea."

The word "chela" in the name Kooteninchela means "nail" or "scissors" in Latin. About 4cm long and living in Canadian waters, this creature may have been a kind of predator and used nails to feed.

" Kooteninchela deppi is helping researchers re-connect information about the Cambrian Earth life when nearly every creature is now beginning to produce, evolve at that time."

According to Legg, Kooteninchela deppi is the ancestor of the arthropods and is related to today's species such as spiders, scorpions, centipedes, insects and crabs.

"Imagine the shrimp you are strewing with mayonnaise, the spider crawls on the wall and the fly is flying into your window . all descendants of Kooteninchela deppi."
