Launched Vmap map of Vietnam, showing details of each house number

Vmap digital map focuses on building data sources and addresses of Vietnamese users in more detail than existing platforms.

On October 1, two outstanding products from the project "Developing Vietnamese digital knowledge system" , hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, were officially launched.

Vmap digital map developed by Vietnam Post focused on building data sources and addresses of Vietnamese users. Compared to a number of mapping and positioning platforms available, Vmap displays its own map layers, and the ability to display the detailed address of each house number whether in urban or mountainous, remote areas.

Vmap maps currently works on the web, soon to have a smartphone application.

According to the developer, 120,000 postal workers and union members and young people directly gathered information in three months, creating more than 23.4 million address data across the country. This data can be used in business applications such as delivery units, applications on other systems.

Currently, Vmap is only available on the web, not yet launched on smartphone operating systems.

Besides the Vmap project, another project in the project, iNhandao was also introduced. This is a project chaired by the Vietnam Red Cross, using digital addresses from Vmap maps to build data on humanitarian addresses to provide accurate information.

The goal of data development is to help donor activities ensure the right target, transparent and clear.

At the launch, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that the most praiseworthy thing is that although in phase 1, these products have been well received and started to be applied in practice.

"I and many brothers and sisters participating in the first phase of digitizing Vietnamese Knowledge are very happy because the seeds of knowledge sharing, community connection, and creative encouragement that we dedicated to sowing more than 1 year ago starting to sprout, "the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The Deputy Prime Minister also said the process of developing products in the iTrithuc system is still very long. In the future, products like iNhandao can be used to connect supporters and support, to not only provide physical support but also time and knowledge.
