Life on Earth may have started over 4 billion years ago
Life may have existed on Earth from 4.1 billion years ago, not just 3.8 billion years as previously estimated.
Life on Earth probably started 4.1 billion years ago
A newly excavated piece of ancient zircon crystal in Western Australia holds evidence that life may have existed on Earth about 300 million years earlier than previously estimated estimates.

The group of scientists from Stanford University and the University of California, Los Angeles (USA) has discovered about 10,000 samples of zircon stones dating back several billion years in Jack Hills, Australia.
Of these, one sample is believed to contain carbon molecules with a date of up to 4.1 billion years.
According to the content of the article published in the scientific journal of the National Science Institute of America, the specimens were found to be quite intact and showed no signs of being affected by the geological processes in the period above 4 , 1 billion years ago.
So far, thanks to fossil assessment, scientists still believe that life appeared on Earth 3.8 billion years ago in the form of unicellular organisms.
