According to Decision No. 14 , which was just signed and issued by the Prime Minister on May 24, some low-efficiency energy-using devices will not be allowed to be imported, manufactured and traded in Vietnam from July 15 .

Specifically, the above Decision stipulates the list and roadmap for energy-using vehicles and equipment with energy efficiency that do not meet the minimum energy efficiency level to be eliminated, meaning that they are not allowed to be imported, manufactured or traded domestically. This regulation also requires that low-efficiency power generators must not be newly built.

Accordingly, the group of household appliances including compact fluorescent bulbs, electronic ballasts for fluorescent bulbs, straight tube fluorescent bulbs, electric fans, household washing machines, rice cookers. are devices that must be eliminated from July 15 if they do not meet the minimum energy efficiency level specified in relevant National Standards.

In addition, appliances such as refrigerators and freezers, storage water heaters, ducted air conditioners or televisions will be phased out starting from July 15 or April 1, 2025, depending on the minimum energy efficiency level of each National Standard.

In addition, office and commercial equipment groups such as computer monitors, photocopiers, printers, laptops, desktops and commercial refrigerators must also be eliminated according to the content of the above Decision.

Of these, laptops and desktops with energy efficiency that do not meet the minimum energy efficiency levels specified in TCVN 11848:2021 and TCVN 13371:2021 respectively will be phased out from April 1, 2025.

In addition, some industrial equipment such as three-phase asynchronous electric motors with squirrel cage rotors, distribution transformers, LED street and road lighting or boilers in industrial enterprises are also equipment on the list and roadmap to be eliminated.
