Dr. Andrew Birley, Director of Research at Vindolanda Trust, said: "I have seen images of Roman gloves depicted on bronze statues, paintings and bronze sculptures. ".

According to Dr. Andrew Birley, finding Roman gloves made of leather is extremely special. Moreover, they are preserved under the concrete floor so they are quite intact.

This artifact is found alongside the sword, towels and ancient Roman shoes. Dr. Andrew Birley said the gloves date back to about 118 - 120 AD.
