Meteors explode into night in Siberia
On the night of December 6, a meteorite fell on Beysky region in Khakassia, southwestern Siberia (Russia), causing the night sky to glow as day.
Many people who witnessed this phenomenon said at first they "did not understand what happened".

"Suddenly everything lit up. Although not quite the same as daylight, it was quite bright," witness Olga Sagalakova told RT.
"We are watching the nearby mountain . and seeing giant meteorites fly by. It has a tail. Honestly, I was scared. I thought it was a bomb," she said.
Witnesses said they saw the meteor for about three or four seconds and about half a minute later there was a loud bang that made the car sirens sound loudly everywhere.

"It's very beautiful. You don't have a chance to see this every day," witness Sergey Isaykin said.
Khakassia officials also confirmed the meteorite explosion. No information about damage.
Earlier in 2013, a large meteorite exploded in the sky of the city of Chelyabinsk, the Urals region (Russia), causing a stir, causing many broken glass and traffic to stall.
More than 1,000 people were injured in the incident, and scientists say the energy released by meteorites is equivalent to a small atomic bomb.
