Most of us are hypocrites
Most of us, whether admitted or not, are hypocrites. We value others more rigorously when evaluating ourselves.
What is responsible for them being more tolerant of themselves.
To find out, a recent study asked participants to perform two tasks. One is described as time consuming, and the other is much easier and faster. Volunteers will have to divide their work for themselves or for their neighbors. They can do this either independently or on a computer (according to which the machine will randomly assign it).
As a result, 85% of participants who ignore a computer's choice and choose their own job more simply - also mean giving up hardship to another person.
Moreover, they all considered their decision to be fair. However, when 43 other volunteers saw these people making similar decisions, they thought it was unfair.

The team then "forced awareness" by asking volunteers to quickly memorize long numbers. In this very difficult and urgent task, volunteers become more fair. They think that their duties are just as horrible as those of others.
This proves that we are morally intuition, but "when we have enough time to think about it, we immediately argue about why we don't do an easier job , " said the team leader. rescue Piercarlo Valdesolo from Northeastern University, said.
The team surmises that moral instincts are the result of evolutionary selection for people who live in groups. Fairness will strengthen our two-way favorable relationship and enhance our chances of survival.
