The Hudson Yards Building was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects. The building has glass and steel structure at 395m high, 60m higher than the observatory, and owns many offices, restaurants, bars, shopping malls and event space inside.

The observation deck was installed outside the building at 335m and 20m wide, with a 347-ton steel frame. The facility is scheduled to open to visitors by the end of 2019, several months after the 30 Hudson Yards opened.
