China built the world's highest flying observatory
If you have climbed the Great Wall, Beijing now wants you to " fly " on a giant wheel up to 208 meters tall to observe this city from above.
The giant wheel that is as high as this 70-story building will have 48 air-conditioned cabins, each with a capacity of 40 people. According to the designers' calculations, on the day of the beautiful weather, guests can see the Great Wall from this observatory.
" This is a beautiful addition to the city and it will be the new symbol of Beijing, " said Stephan Matter, the director of the construction company. " The capacity of each cabin of a similar building in London is 25, ours is 40 people and it weighs 18 tons. Each of these cabins will be like a living room ."
The giant wheel will be built in Chaoyang Park in eastern Beijing, where volleyball matches will take place in the 2008 Olympics. The cost of building this wheel is US $ 300 million and the fare for each guest is 12.5 USD.
