China built the world's highest TV tower
Guangzhou City (China), which hosts the Asian Games in 2010, will receive one of the highest structures in the world. The new television tower will reach a height of 610m and is designed to welcome about 10,000 visitors daily.
The rope-shaped structure is surrounded by two e-shaped shapes that form a ring shape. Every device that operates the architecture will be hidden under the floor and all communication infrastructure will be located in the basement. This floor will also contain a museum, restaurant, a commercial space and parking space.
Panoramic elevators and high-speed, double-deck and closed elevators will serve at the two entrances. At an altitude of 80 to 170 meters there will be a 4D movie theater, restaurants, cafes and flower gardens outside. From 170m up, there will be a spiral staircase in the sky nearly 200m high.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2009 to promptly welcome the Asian Games.
