Multi-channel radioactivity measuring and warning device

Recently, scientists from the Institute of Materials Chemistry (Center for Science and Technology and Military Technology) have successfully designed and manufactured multi-channel radioactivity measuring and warning devices based on micro applications. controller (microcontroller).

All control modules are built, simulated and completed on Reads51 software system. Actual operation of the system is calibrated on real radioactive sources and tested in different working conditions.

Through practicality, this device provides the ability to measure radioactivity with high sensitivity and accuracy (<10% compared to the permissible error rate of 20-25%), the energy consumption is lower than the range 90% compared with old equipment with similar features made by Russia on the same technical basis. In addition, the device also provides the ability to communicate with the PC via RS-232 serial standard, allowing to expand the scope of applications and meet the needs of storage, statistics and long-term data processing. In particular, thanks to flexible, easy to upgrade features, radioactive measuring and warning devices developed on this solution can be widely applied in many fields, especially in the military.

Multi-channel radiometer and warning device is built on 6 function blocks, ensuring flexibility, flexibility, easy to upgrade and replace:

- Radiation sensor block: Includes 6 radiation detectors, set for 6 independent measuring channels.

- Central control and processing unit: Performing the task of calculating and processing data, controlling the operation of the whole system.

- Radiation display and warning block: Built based on two liquid crystal modules, allowing to display measurement results and alarm threshold values ​​for all measuring channels.

- Computer communication block: Allows users to easily monitor, monitor and remotely control radiation measurement and warning processes.

- Operation mode control block: Designed to extend the scope of use and increase the flexibility for the system, it is possible to change the operating mode and alarm threshold through the manual button system.

- Power supply: Supplying the source for the whole system and ensuring the stable operation of the system with AC input source fluctuating from 100 to 240 V.

The successful design and manufacture of multi-channel radioactive automatic measuring and warning devices have opened the possibility of improving and replacing old, obsolete and low-cost devices, which have been effectively applied at some facilities.
