Dong Nai: Discovered mummies for over 200 years

A mummy with a date of over 200 years has been discovered during the excavation of Cau Xeo ancient tomb in Cau Xeo area, Long Thanh town, Long Thanh district, Dong Nai at the end of September 16, 2011.

Cau Xeo ancient tomb has closed and rectangular architecture. Tombs are made in outer areas, including: the compound surrounding 6 sides is about 50cm thick. Inside there are wooden sarcophagus and the inside is a coffin with a semicircle lid, the top is covered with cloth with wire pattern, leaf and chrysanthemum pattern. Inside the coffin, the mummy is covered with cloth and covered with lotus leaves. The excavation team brought the coffin to include a mummy to preserve at Dong Nai Museum.

According to the Vietnam News Agency, archaeologists said that based on the external information and the mummy inside the coffin, it can be confirmed that the coffin is a grandmother, or it could be an attached lady. intimate bunch with the Nguyen Dynasty.

Mummy during the Hau Le period in Nam Dinh

Earlier, on April 1, during construction of the road under the Bao Minh Industrial Project, in the field of Dau Dinh village of Cao Phuong village, Lien Bao commune, workers discovered 5 graves, among them 4 houses are modern graves that have been destroyed by termites, while the last one has a special structure.

According to the assessment, this is an ancient grave with 94.5cm long, 27.3cm wide, 33.4cm high made of honey, sand, lime and coal. Inside the coffin is a human skeleton covered over a layer of rough cloth. On the face of the mummy covered with a sheet of wind paper. The skeleton is still quite intact, especially there are still 32 teeth and 8 hairs sticking on the lower jaw and the skull under the skull. According to experts, this could be a man between 40 and 45 years old.

At the end of 2007, Phuc Nga private enterprise destroyed an ancient tomb located in Trung Hung commune, Yen My district, Hung Yen province, causing much pressing in public opinion. According to the participants of the grave destruction, the above owner had to hire dozens of workers to use the hammer and crowbar, but the compound of clam shells, oysters, lime, stone powder . remained unabated. . People even had to use a boring drill for 3 days and 3 nights to pop the grave, revealing the casket covered with red paint.

According to the description, the grave of the grave is a massive compound, half a meter thick. Under the heavy lid, tens of tons is a big casket covered with red paint. When the coffin turned on the lid, the smell of fragrant oil spreaded over a large area.

Local people have no record of this ancient tomb. People only heard the word of mouth, this is the ancient tomb of a Duke of the late Le Dynasty.

After that, Mr. Quan's body was brought to a field about 3km away to be buried in a circular grave built by this business owner. Aromatherapy mummy in Nhat Tan peach garden

The artifacts show that this is a rich man, lived in the late 18th century. The identity of the mummy is not determined. The mummy was shrouded, put into a coffin and buried in Nhat Tan cemetery on May 7, 2005.
