Mysterious US aircraft set a record of time saved space

The US Air Force X-37B has just completed Saturday in orbit, making it the longest mission-carrying ship in a secret test program.

The US military has launched five X-37B aircraft into orbit over the past decade and each subsequent flight performed a mission longer than the previous.

The current X-37B mission has no specific end date, according to US Air Force spokesman Major William Russell. The spacecraft will return to Earth only after completing all its missions, he said.

Details of the mission's goals remain a secret, according to CNN.

The test program of the X-37B aircraft attracted public attention because of its confidentiality. The US Air Force does not share the location of X-37B aircraft when they are in orbit.

The US Air Force said that the X-37B was built to test renewable technology in space, in order to save money on space operations.

According to Global Security, the X-37B aircraft program was developed by Boeing Corporation in 1999, under the auspices of the US Aerospace Agency (NASA). In 2004, the program was suddenly transferred to the US Air Force.

X-37B is loved for its unique design, which looks like a miniature space shuttle. They are launched into orbit with boosters and then detached to perform the task.

After completing the mission, the ship will land back to the ground like a normal aircraft.

Some sources claim that X-37B can engage in space espionage activities, even testing secret weapons in space.

The fourth space mission called OTV-4 lasts for 717 days and 20 hours. The ship was launched into space on May 20, 2015, landing at the Kennedy Space Center at 8pm on May 7, 2017.

OTV-5 was launched in September 2018 on SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
