NASA reveals where 'healthy, Earth-like' creatures could exist

A NASA manned spacecraft will land on the "promised land" where aliens may lurk in 2025 .

A new study from NASA claims some hardy bacteria may be surviving on the Moon – Earth's closest neighbour.

According to Live Science , a research team led by planetary scientist Prabal Saxena from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center indicates that microbial life can survive in the harsh conditions at the Moon's south pole .

This result is based on the most recent analysis of the range in which some microorganisms can survive, thereby indicating potential ecological niches for some special life forms.

'We are still working to understand what specific organisms might be best suited to survive in such areas and which areas in these polar regions are best suited to supporting life,' Dr Saxena revealed.

Organic geochemist Heather Graham, a member of the research team, also from Goddard, said the organisms could have been "tourists" from Earth, settling down and thriving on the natural satellite.

Just as meteorites from other planets fall to Earth, Earth itself throws small fragments onto its companion, carrying with it organic molecules and possibly something more complete of life.

Previously, there were even studies that suspected that Earth's spacecraft could also carry microorganisms that can withstand the space environment to the Moon, for example tardigrades (water bears).

If all goes well, NASA's Artemis 3 spacecraft will be on the Moon in 2025 and astronauts will have a good opportunity to learn about this "promised land" of alien creatures.
