NASA unveils 'Sun's 10-year life' video
NASA has just released an hour-long video in which astronomers synthesize images of the Sun collected after a decade of observation.
During this time, scientists collected more than 20 million gigabytes (GB) of data showing the state of the Sun's crown. In total, the devices produced about 425 million Sun images at 17.1 nanometers.
The video records the increase and decrease in light activity that occurs over a period of 11 years. The image captures even dark areas, which occur when the solar observatory's optical glass is obscured by the Earth or the Moon.
