New international environmental organization is coming soon
200 government officials and environmentalists attended the World Environment Summit held in Paris yesterday (3-2) calling for the establishment of a new international environmental agency .

French President Jacques Chirac called for a new world environmental organization to replace the current United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), to strengthen international environmental control. His proposal received support from more than 40 countries.
'We hope to establish a new world environmental organization that works in tandem with the World Health Organization (WHO). The organization is recognized by the world and has more power, ' the delegates said in a statement at the' Citizen of the Earth 'Summit.
According to the statement, the UN's official environmental agency will be a tool to promote new technologies to protect the ecosystem and ensure the implementation of the world's environmental policies.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that addressing climate challenges is one of the top priorities of his agenda.
