New Zealand launched three climate change scholarship funds
Vietnamese scientists and researchers can apply for support from three international climate change research funds established by the New Zealand government.
These scholarships include Funds for global partners to research livestock emissions; Scholarships are available for senior scientists from the Global Research Alliance (GRASS) and Scholarships for the Research on Emissions and Emissions Reduction (LEARN) Network.
Speaking at the fund opening ceremony on September 21, Ms. Heather Riddell, New Zealand ambassador to Vietnam, stressed that although there are three separate funds set up, they all focus on reducing emissions. greenhouses in livestock.
Ambassador Riddell said New Zealand's emphasis on the agricultural aspect of global response to climate change is a natural response to New Zealand's own situation - the agricultural sector is a major source of carbon emissions. the only one in New Zealand (49%).
"Therefore, New Zealand and many other countries including Vietnam face a simple agricultural challenge but it is important how to increase production to provide enough food for the growing population in while reducing agricultural carbon emissions and increasing carbon sequestration ".
"The launch of these three new research funds maintains New Zealand's close involvement in this area."
