Ngo Bao Chau received the title of excellent professor

Ngo Bao Chau is one of six professors at the University of Chicago (USA) who has received the title of outstanding professor, according to the university's newsletter.

The University of Chicago Newsletter spends a great deal of articles on Professor Ngo Bao Chau, who just won the prestigious Fields Mathematical Prize to prove the basic lemma in the " Langlands program ".

When the Langlands program is resolved, humanity will almost have a unified view for many branches of modern mathematics such as arithmetic, algebra and calculus. When Wu Baozhou's work - consisting of nearly 200 pages - was confirmed to be true, mathematicians all over the world breathed a sigh of relief.

At American universities, the " Distinguished service professorships " are awarded only to a few university professors . The five other University of Chicago professors also earned the title of outstanding professor in the fields of chemistry, physics, philosophy.

Last September, Professor Ngo Bao Chau taught at the mathematics department of the University of Chicago. Ngo Bao Chau was born in 1972, attended the specialized mathematics school of the University of Natural Sciences , Hanoi National University and won the international Olympic gold medal in 1988 and 1989. He received a doctorate at the University of Paris- Sud in 1997.

In 2004 Ngo Bao Chau received the annual research award of Clay Mathematics Institute, USA for those who achieved the most outstanding achievements of the year by resolving a special case of the ' Langlands program' . Each year only one or two people are awarded and Ngo Bao Chau is the first Vietnamese to receive this award.

After receiving the Clay Prize, he was invited to work by the Princeton High School of Science . This institute is a place that brings together many of the world's leading mathematicians and physicists, many of whom have won Nobel prizes and Fields . Ngo Bao Chau also received an award from the Oberwolfach Institute for Mathematics Research for young European mathematicians in 2007 and the French Academy Award in 2008.

On August 19, 2010, Professor Ngo Bao Chau received the Fields Award by the World Mathematics Federation . This is the first time this award has been given to a Vietnamese person.
