Nostradamus really predict the future?

Nostradamus (1503 - 1566) is often regarded as the most outstanding prophet of all time, with the ability to accurately predict most important events that affect world history, even if it happens for hundreds of years. after he died.

Prophets

However, there are some views that Nostradamus's predictions are actually just the dedication of the latter, or even the coincidence.

All of Nostradamus's thunderous verses handed down to this day are in the Propheties, first published from 1555 to 1558. At that time, the volume consists of 10 chapters, each chapter is 100 prophecies written in the form of a great poem. But when it was reprinted in 1568 (after Nostradamus had died), only the first nine chapters were enough of 100 poems. The last chapter only has 42 articles.

The famous prophet Nostradamus

According to Nostradamus fans, in this volume, the prophet foresaw most of the major events that occurred from the 16th century onwards, from historical events like the French Revolution, the two Great Wars. the first and second worlds; until the role of special individuals such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Hitler, the death of Princess Diana; or even outstanding scientific and technical achievements such as the Apollo landing on the moon .

But it is worth mentioning that, all these prophecies are ambiguous and difficult to understand. Nostradamus almost never specified the time and place of events, so no one could rely on his prophecies to guess what was to come. In most cases, people can only use them to contemplate after things have happened.

Accidentally true?

It is a vague, lack of specific time and place in most prophecies that is why some say that Nostradamus is just right . by chance.

He made nearly 1,000 predictions, which for nearly 500 years since then, there have been hundreds and even thousands of great events happening. So there are no coincidental events that coincide with what Nostradamus wrote. Moreover, many of his prophecies refer to war, natural disasters, death, the common problems of history. Therefore, the possibility of coincidence is higher.

The book records the prophecies of Nostradamus

It is also because of the vague, mysterious writing that Nostradamus's prophet can understand in many different ways, depending on the subjective interpretation of the reader. That is not to mention the translation of his records from ancient French in the 16th century to modern languages, which also made the initial meaning fall more or less.

For example, the 97th prophecy of the 6th chapter in the English version is: At 45 degrees the sky burns / Fire covers the new city . Some people believe that this is a prophecy about the 9/11 terrorist attacks in America: the focus is New York City (New: new), the fire comes from the air (because the plane crashed into the building) and the latitude of New York is 40 degrees 5 minutes North (quite close to 45 degrees) . However, if reading the original in French will see Nostradamus using the word 'Villeneuve'.

This word can both mean 'new city' , but at the same time is the name of a town located on the outskirts of Paris, with latitude near 45 degrees North. Thus, it is likely that Nostradamus would refer to a certain event in this town, not the 9/11.

Similarly, the 24th chapter prophecy says: The hungry beast will cross the river / The greater part of the battlefield will oppose Hister . This is still considered the famous prophecy of Hitler. But in fact, at the time of Nostradamus, Hister was a place near the lower Danube. The idea is that this is exactly what Nostradamus intended to say.
