Online newspapers achieved double-digit growth rates
While paper newspapers are trying to retain readers, online newspapers have achieved double-digit growth rates.
The number of regular online newspaper readers in January increased by 21% compared to December 2005. Also during this period, the number of visitors to newspapers on the Internet also reached a record increase of 43%.
According to the American Journalism Association, in November 2005, there were 55 million users - or 1 out of 3 Internet users - often accessing a web page.
