Overwhelmed by the 'parade' of the 3,000-year-old mummy of the Egyptian royal family
The parade of 22 mummies of Egypt's kings and queens dating back up to 3,000 years was celebrated with grandeur, bearing the imprint of one of mankind's greatest civilizations.
On April 3, Egypt held a monumental event called "Golden Parade of the Pharaohs".
At sunset, the mummies were placed in glass cases and loaded onto a decorated chariot, accompanied by a motorcade, accompanying horses and a musical ensemble. In the photo: The car carrying the mummy of Queen Ahmose-Nefertari.
The parade featured 22 mummies, including 18 kings and 4 queens of ancient Egypt. These mummies date from about 3,100 - 3,500 years ago.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi attends the event held in Cairo. He praised the parade's magnificence and said it was proof of the greatness of Egypt's civilization and conservation efforts.
The mummies were moved from the old museum to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, which opened in 2017. Here, the mummies will be better preserved.
